Unique gifts available at the Holiday Craft Show | News, Sports, Jobs
HOUGHTON — With Christmas just weeks away, many holiday shoppers are still on the hunt for gifts for their loved ones. If you’re looking for the perfect holiday gift, the Daily Mining Gazette’s Holiday Craft Show is the place to be.
The craft show will take place at the Copper Country Mall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 11. Many local vendors will be present, offering a wide variety of unique gift items.
One of the vendors who will be present at the upcoming event is local artisan Joanne Kingman, who will be offering nature-inspired handcrafted items, from candle holders to framed pictures.
Kingman is a Hancock resident whose work is often inspired by natural copper country materials such as birch bark, driftwood, stones and leaves. Kingman said these items make great holiday gifts.
Along with selling her own crafts, Kingman said she’s also curious to see what other sellers have to offer this year. Kingman has previously participated in the Holiday Craft Show and expects a good turnout at this year’s event.
“It’s always been a good show for us, with lots of people and no problems” she said.
The Deer Hunters’ Widows Craft Show was held in November and featured 55 vendors, offering a huge selection of items including jewelry, knitwear, millwork, gift baskets, wreaths, coffee mugs , preserves, pastries and much more. .
Attendees reported that the Deer Hunters’ Widows Craft Show was a big draw, giving many area residents a head start on holiday shopping.
The upcoming Holiday Craft Show offers shoppers a second chance to browse the many offerings from local artists and artisans and find the perfect holiday gifts for friends and family members.
